Dear Sandee,

First you understand what is Gross and What is CTC?

Gross is your total earnings for particular month.
CTC is Cost to Company which includes employer contributions plus Gross salary.

From gross your contributions will be deducted, after deductions you will get your net take home.

Hope you understand.

Dear Sandeep,

Kindly note the following.
1) CTC - Cost to Company includes any thing and everything that costs the employer for having kept you on roll. hence any expenses incurred regularly by your employer on you adds up to your CTC.
2) There is no rule that says the conveyance should not exceed Rs.800/- per month nor the the medical should not exceedRs.1250/- These are just the limits till which you have excemption under the IT act.
Kind regards

Dear Sandeep
AS per my knowledge ur CTC Calculation is absolutly correct

your Gross salary is 12817
and ur deductions are 200+648 = 848 so very simply gross salary - deduction is ur net take home salary
thats why ur Net Salary is 11969/-

The net take home which you have mentioned is right, as the employer's contribution is also to be deducted as its a part of your CTC & nothing separate as such....

Employer side pf deduction is missing from the deductions part and it should be part of salary components.

Dear

My suggestion : Keep your CTC etc confidential
In most organizations you will be called to explain your action

Cheers
