Percentage of Employers contribution amount in PF slip
Hello,

I have received some PF slips (the long ones distributed by the PF office). In those receipts there is a section which mentions contribution during the year. In that section there are two columns which states the total employee and employer contribution for the year.

This slip in question is for the year April 2001 to March 2002

During this year my Basic Salary was Rs. 16700

As a result the Employee contribution at 12% per month is Rs. 2004 which adds up to 24048.

Even in the PF slip the total employees contribution amount matches with this amount of Rs. 24048.

However the total employer contribution amount is mentioned in the slip as Rs. 17928.

Can some one please explain me how this amount for employers contribution is calculated based on the actual figures explained above.

Thanks.
Navroz
