Gap of 7 months due to recession - no interview calls

I am a M.Com student and have completed ICWAI till 3rd stage. I shall be appearing for final stage in Dec'09 and sure to clear the same. Please let me know the companies where I can apply right now.

Ms. Asha has pointed out correctly for the query on the gap in job and while applying chance to miss out your c.v

I had a personal bitter experience on the same lines and as Ash suggested its better not to mention the last working date, which would turn employer to have a look at your CV and call for interview.

I write my experience like this.

From xx/xxxx to yy/yyyy worked in X1Y1Z1 organization as .........
From ww/wwww to xx/xxxx worked in X2Y2Z2 Organization as ........

Now how can I not mention last working date.

Dear Friend,
The Confidence is the first & foremost tool & trait that you should build on your own, by considering this period as a bad patch in life that is there in everybody's life.
Next is that keep yourself updated on current happenings & new trends in your Core Line, update & upgrade yourself.
No matter, whatever may happen, you have to fight & win only, never want to & have to loose.
Then, only & only Success is yours, it may take the toll of time & money.

This recession and all these things are not permanant. Ups and downs are in every industry. Dont worry all this bad period will come to and end. and as u hv an experience u will get a better opportunity. Just u hv to do is to have patience and try searching job. And 1 day will come when you will be at the pinnacle. Just dont worry believe in my sentence "Change is the only permanent thing in the world". Be happy and carry on your efforts. This cloud also has silver lining.

Congrats to you for complition of ICWA. YOu can go in search of financial firms like ICICI, HDFC etc..... EVen you will come to know abt the industries where you can use ur qualification on naukri.com, monster.com etc...

Keep the same format, except for the last job you can mention it this way:

From xx/xxxx - working with xxx Organization as yyyy]

(dont give to ---- )

Hi Kumar,

The time is still not over. You can always try to get a job since you are having close to 8+ years of experience. But do you have only java knowledge or have you upgraded yourself to other technologies because these days companies are looking only for niche skills employees. As Asha has stated remove the LWD from your resume and then starting hunting for job. If possible take a pay cut because job is more important nowadays. Even I have taken a 10% pay cut and opted for this job. You cannot have salaries of the past, now all the companies are tightening their revenues.

Be positive. Buy the VCD of famous movies of Secret and watch it and try to be positive. The exact time has to be come for everything. Keep trying.
