From "rajmvkmalhotra" : Hi can u elaborate more on LABOR LAWS as ICICI Bank makes it employees work more than 45hours per week and they are flouting these laws since a very long time.

On an average in A+ Branches people are working 62 hours per week without overtime pay and in small branches people are working 54-60 hours per week without overtime pay.

They have smartly in their Online Muster have designed a default process of 8hours so that even if you work more only 8hours gets registered.

For Small Branches:

Mon-Fri : Branch Hours : 9-6pm (Employee Hours - 8.45 - 6.30pm)

Saturday : Branch Hours : 9-2pm (Employee Hours - 8.45 - 6pm)

For Big Branches :

Mon-Fri : Branch Hours : 8am-8pm (Employee Shifts from 7.45 - 6.30pm or 9.45 -8.30pm)

Saturday : Branch Hours : 9-2pm (Employee Hours - 8.45 - 6pm)

On Saturdays, 9-2 are the Official Branch Hours but the employees stay back till 6pm for additional trainings.

Overall they are flouting Rules and since it is Recession time people are scared to make their voices being heard.

PLEASE HELP...THESE ARE FACTS...PLEASE ADVICE IF THIS SHOULD BE SHARED WITH THE MEDIA AS WE FEEL EXPLOITED...

Any employee who works more than 48 Hours in a week and more than 9 Hours per day works , he or she entitled for the OT wages ie double the normal wages. If any employer is fails to follw such rule is liable to be prosucuted undr shops and est act

ICICI is one of the worst offenders - no ethics in its dealings. being related to someone who was an ex-banker I can tell this confidently, ICICI is the worst. a couple of my friends could not bear the pressure - no leave, heavy hours and quit. if you are there and feel this, my suggestion is that you take a call and quit after getting a good job.

as far as other staff are concerned, let them take their own calls and fight their own battle. ICICI is a big fish with huge government banking and political contacts. if you want to nail, then go with details (that should stand the test of law) and be prepared for some beatings from their goons and threat to your household. quit if you don't like the job.

as far as media is concerned, they will sensationalise this and after a period of time, it will move away (after cash changes hands). build a dossier with records of dates and instances and then take a call. you are trying to catch the tiger's tail. you can't let it go
as it will swallow you as a whole.

we as customers have been taken for a ride but for the compulsions of our employers we are continuing with our salary accounts. so not just, a lot of people have their grouses and grievances against ICICI. in fact, ICICI has taken a huge battering in UK for not adhering to rules and ethics.

I AM NOT HERE TO DEFAME ANYONE.

Facts will remain Facts..

IT WAS A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR THE WELFARE OF THE EMPLOYEES PAN INDIA AND on Behalf of MANY EMPLOYEES in Top Companies as the load is Shared by the Working Staff who are scared to report and are treated like Rags(hoping to get a promoion).

Ask any of the Working Youth nowadays and they will say inspite of all the richness the working hours take a toll on their Health..They don't have time....

eg..Mostly all Govt Banks are from 9.30-3.30pm

Even many Private Banks follow the same work timings.

And people believe that a 9-5 Job is a Not Possible at all when we are not supposed to put in more than that...

as 9-5 is 8hrs * 5 = 40 hrs + 5hrs duty on Saturday..

If we do we are Legally Entitled to Overtime Pay (Which HAPPENS ALL OVER THE WORLD except Iraq)

On the contrary people are being Sacked, Pays Cut and what not...(MODERN SCIENCE SAYS A BODY CAN'T WORK EFFICIENTLY AFTER 9HRS OF WORK)

It might sound funny but SOMEONE HAS TO QUESTION...

to be precise we have seen, so far, many companies ,specially in the last 10 years, no where it is really practiced that employees hould work only 48 hrs a week. Growing unemployment , sense of insecurity , greediness of some guys makign things worst ! but start this battle somehwere so that others will carry the fight but be preapred to take a call !
