Hi All!
I work as an HR in a small IT Firm with a strength of around 20 employees. Our management has formed a new leave policy, which i wish to discuss with all and get your views to improvise upon it.
We have decided upon following leaves:
PL/EL- 12 per yr.
SL - 06 per yr.
CL - 04 per yr.
Apart from this there is a provision for Bereavement leaves(7 in entire employment pd.); Maternity Leaves (6 week+6 week as per law); Sabatical (max upto 6 months. after completing 2 yrs. in org.; along with a clause that a leave for more than 2 months makes an employee fall in reconsideration state) etc.
Clubbing of any type of leaves is not allowed, apart from clubbing of EL with LWP(leave without pay), in case of insufficient EL/PL.
Also since there have been a lot of leaves immediately after joining, we have decided to fix LWP(leave without pay) upto a max limit of 10 in 1 business yr.
Apart from this, all EL and Cl will be earned after month end, and EL can't be availed during Probation (3 months). also carry forward is allowed only for EL which is restricted upto a max. of next business year, after which it will lapse.
I need the views of seniors on this so that we can improve the same.
(Personally, i feel we are putting too many restrictions on employees, though i understand this has been formed taking present situation in consideration, where too many employees went on leave immediately after joining. Being a small firm with few employees, this hampers work. But somehow im not very much satisfied with the same).
