Hi frns
I want to conduct some activites which makes work atmosphere light and friendly. Please suggest me what should I do so that employees feel good at their work place. Also our attrition ratio is very high so am planning to to do small survey internaly for which i want to make some questionnaire so please helpe me what questions i should put. And what are the other welfare activites i can conduct?????

some of them could be:
-Wish them on their Birthday
-Congratulate them on successful completion of say 'x' years.
-Anniversaries / a Day out
this is where :?: arises
Whats next and How to go abt it.....!!

I would like to share what presently we do in our organisation on part of the HR activities / welfare activities.

We organise :

1) Felicitation prg for childrens of employees those who have stood 1st,2nd & 3rd in the annual exam.

2) "best of Luck" to childrens of emps.those who are appearing in 10th & 12th std ( by visiting to their residence with short notice)

3) Drawing comp/ Eassy comp for childrens

4) Rangoli comp for family members of empls

5) Annual Sports day

6) Family members visit to factory

7) Family picnic / gettogether

8) Comp.like antakshari

9) Comp.on safety during safety week

10) Suggestion on topics given

11) Yoga & Pranamum

In addition to above we have started an unique activity for employees those who are traveling from Pune to company in morning i.e. "Yoga on Wheels" - in which we have series of activities like - different exercises of eyes, concentration, Breathing exercises including omkar, laughing for minutes, clapping for acupressure effect etc. etc. This dual beneficial activities (health & utilization of travel time) we do daily for 30 minutes during the traveling since last 176 days.

Above all activities are part of Goals of my department. May be this is one of the reason as why the IR issues are very less and the attrition rate is only 4%.

for make feel to employee they are important, first to undestand them that they are not only the worker but they are family members./a session of sharing there past life or thre present situation with great concern can help u out

Hi all,
I like the ideas, but apart from wishing the employees on their b'days or on the anniversary of "x" years, you can present them a card or a beautiful rose as well. Such activities from the HR side can motivate the employees and they'll feel that they all belongs to one family.

Hi Poonam,
You've so many HR activities to motivate the employees.. The first and foremost thing what i feel is that the working environment should be pleasant for them to work, so you've to take care of that first. Then you can take them for Team Lunch or outing once in 2 months or a month depending upon the convenience.. You can celebrate their b'days at the end of the month and you can also invite their family members on that day.. You can have a general meeting with some team building games and some other fun stuffs and make them get out of their work tensions and here is where they can know their team members better and will move with them easily and giving gift vouchers for all the participants and also greeting and giving gifts on their B'days or wedding anniversaries..
I hope i've given some ideas to you... You can implement it in ur way and ur creativity...
