Hi Payal,
Firstly welcome to the world's best forum...
When you reply to any post, or start your own, that post gets added to your 'Watched Topics List". This is the button at the beginning of a discussion on the right-side and says "Watch this topic for replies". If that post is already in your Watched Topics List, then this button will read "Stop watching this topic". Now when any firther comment is added to that discussion by anybody, you will receive an email notification in the email id you used to register to the froum.
Also, at the top of the page in the centre, above the discussion heading, there are 2 links : My watched topics, & My posts. You can use these to search for a specific discussion either started by somebody else, or by yourself.
If you are interested in a specific discussion, but you haven't posted your own comment in it, then you will have to manually click the 'Watch this topic for replies' button, otherwise you might lose the discussion if you dont remember the author or the topic name. And to stop receiving email notifications for any discussion, just click on the 'Stop watching this topic' button.
Its very easy and very smooth...
Regards,
Devjit
