Hi to all those who are in this particular category...
I am a HR student in Australia and I need to ask a question to a HR professional (and not knowing one except for my teacher, which she can't participate) I was wondering if a HR professional could please help me, here is the question.
Interview a HR/IR practioner and determine what the greatest challenges in the workplace currently are?
What training was undertaken for meeting these challenges?
What additional training and development are seen as priorities.

I would be so ever greatful if you could give me the answers and if you could identify who and where you are that would be great! looking forward to your answers..

Thanks Suzanne :icon9:

Hi Suzanne,
Find attached survey conducted on HR Challenges, hope would be helpful for you to determine what are the challenges. Once you determine challenges, it would be more easy to find out the solution.
Best of Luck

Dear Suzanne,
This would differ from industry to industry, and company to company. I am giving you a generalized opinion.
a) Challenges: Incorporating all the new members to the existing work culture & practises
b) Solutions: Orientation & induction programme calendar; Orientation on Performance Measurement system
c) Soft skills & technical training. Looking at outbound learning experience that can help in Goal setting, leadership & team building.
I hope this has helped in your survey!

Interview a HR/IR practioner and determine what the greatest challenges in the workplace currently are?

To train and motivate the employees at a time: To train them with the continuously changing business needs, to keep their skills/talent updated and also to prepare their skill inventory for future business projects. Motivation is also very crucial so that people sustain in the organization as all the costs/training expenses/ company branding is directly dependent on the employee long term sustainability with the organization.

What training was undertaken for meeting these challenges?

• Both external/internal planned training under yearly Training Calendar. Also small grooming session that are generally unstructured have been planned as that helps a lot in learning the basic yet important work concepts and can be easily organized in small group. Here Mentorship also play role by conferring small group of people to a senior person that can monitor the talent graph of that respective group.

What additional training and development are seen as priorities?

• Soft-skill and Work Behavior attitude. These are very important especially when we move higher in the hierarchy. Also Team Leaders should be well aware how to deliver tasks to their teams effectively. Induction training needs to revise in regular time framework.

These are simply my opinion in context to your query.

My best wishes for your survey.

Hi!!!!!
Building a high moral workplace is the greatest challenge
at workplace...
If morale is low, participation is likely to be limited to doing whats required or otherwise expected. Conversely, High morale suggest that individuals will participate with enthusiasm and commitment.
Wat steps u should take??
1. Tune into the emotional needs of your employees
2. Generate a spirit of gratitude
3. Spread Contagious enthusiasm wherever you go
4. Treat employees as humans not just workers
Being a hr person you can teach this things to your employees...n the managers...
Hire the people who are the right fit with your organization's community and culture.
Coach and mentor people to their highest potential
Integrate new hires so that they feel welcome...
All The Best....

Hi..
Biggest problem in a manufacturing concern is "changing mind set of people (Staff and workers)". As they are not ready to accept HR as part of their organization. They think shopfloor needs maxi efforts and time and they take HR as just cost to company.
