Normally in case of LOP only sunday is taken into count. Incase the leave balance is there then only sat and monday shall be calculated for counting the leaves Rao

Dear Peeyusha ji,
If any employee absent on Sat & Monday this will attract an EL and Sunday will be exempted. So twodays EL will be deducted. - IT IS IN GENERAL Leave rules. But its purely depending up on industry to industry as per leave procedures.

Malikji is perfectly right, as usual.
This is the legally-compliant policy adopted by good companies and PSU's.
However, many private sector companies, especially those who are small and family run; and which do not have employer-friendly policies, follow the method as posted by Mr. Ponraj, to extract as much benefit as possible.
