You start your own business. every boady has financial problem. you take some risk.

Hi Pooja,

Everything is possible if you zeal to do that..n congrats u admit you have that. Don't worry, you will enormous examples of people who inspite of no formal education in HR are working as brilliant HR professionals.

• You have 4 years of HR experience and that really matters!!!

• You can enroll for a correspondence/part time HR course of PG diploma or degree. Opportunities are very vast in Mumbai.

• Have patience abd think widely, you can do well. Yes, people with relevant HR degrees are your strong competitor but you can also lead well in HR field if you have trust on you.

• Also join some English speaking classes, don't delay and practice hard in your day to day life. IT's not a very ticklish job dear. Talk, walk, wear and speak only English. But focus on your communication skills overall. How you interact, listen, share and resolve to other’s problems, issue. At the end, it’s result that matters not English.

• And please use this citehr website as a great learning tool. There are so many HR topics from beginning to advance. Study them and hone your HR knowledge. These are the things that will help you long way.

• Starting own business is not a bad idea, but build that much confidence with right guidance and financial aid. I guess some things do not exist right now so leave that for now, and start developing your career.

All the Best.

Hi Pooja
You have 4 yrs of exp as HR, it does have certain value. You can enroll for a part time or correspondence course in HR, as well as start reading english news paper, watch english movies/ news & try to interact with your friends in english. You can also enroll for english speaking course. Few days back some one has posted nice article on english speaking on cite HR, you can search for that.
Wish you all the best!!

Dear Pooja,
first of all work on communication.read Times, improve yr vocabulary, practice talking.
you are doing HR job.do you really like it?(BSC-CHEM),if yes go for part time/executive MBA(HR).continue working, then join a big firm ,get good designation & maybe after 5+ years of experience think about your own business.
if your inclination is towards other type of work, determine field of your liking & then related PG in that field.

Hi Pooja,
This is a very common type of problem. You have two specific problems a) Communication skills b) Absence of HR degree.
When it comes to Communication skills, its not a matter of few day or weeks. It will take months and years to imrove it. So start from today and follow the advice given by Arti. I am sure if you seriously work hard on your communication skills you can be in very good position after 1 year. But for now be confident of whatever you now.
About an HR degree, you can do a 2 year full time correspondance course in HR from Symbosis or IGNOU.
Please work for three years on your shortcomings and after that you will become a quality professional.
All the best

Dear pooja,
communication skill and degree are not everything for hr job. It has a wide functional area. You may look after others matters which are not required fluency in english. To do any type of job you required your iq first, then degree. I am in a renowned construction company and in hr dept next to gm hr. There are two mba's under me and i have the same problems like you.

Dear Pooja,
I would like to say that first of all you have to improve your IQ level and IQ level doesn't mean about that how fluent are you in english? It means that how you express your views, ideas and thoughts. It is not necessary that a very good speaker may be success in HR. In HR you have need lot of creative mind and talent to major and judge the activities. Your decision making power should be good and effective. Dont be frustrated. In my four years of carrer i had seen so many examples i.e. that without the specialization in HR / IR/Personnel, peoples are working on very good posts. Only your talent brings you forward. But I would like to say that with the passage of time you shud have to do any correspondance course in HR. That will increase your market value.
Best Of Good Luck.....

Dear Pooja
As everybody is advising you please do not keep any negative feelings about lack of good communication in English. And verbal communication as we all know is just a part of whole communication.
Do first your SWOT analysis and I suggest ask your friends or associates to do a swot analysis of yours and definitely you will find a list of strengths which you may be ignoring. We have to be positive in all aspects of our life.
You should have confidence in yourself and than one day you will see
Once you will be having confidence about urself than you can see the positive side of everything. And ENGLISH is not a necessary to be successful in life and don’t feel shamed about it that you cannot speak English well. Start practicing and BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.
