Day by day Swine Flu has become most important medical emergency worldwide and so as in India. We come across a lot of information via news agencies and emails; suggesting the instructions, precautions and also prescribing medicines but it difficult to ascertain which information is correct/authentic. Most important is please do not panic but use your common sense and ensure how can we avoid spreading the disease to the extent possible.

The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular seasonal flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with influenza-A (H1N1).

If you have any of above symptoms please take advice of your family physician. Follow his instructions and medicines.

If your doctor decides further investigation is needed, he or she will advise you on what to do. You may have to go to the Government approved hospital for tests

11. If one gets sick with influenza, one must stay at home, away from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them. However, if one is having any respiratory distress, one should report to a nearby hospital.
