Hello Everybody,
Sorry for not being in touch for a long time.
I am doing my project of "Benchmarking of Recruitment process" for Honeywell Pune. I know for that I may have to visit quite a number of companies. But I am not able to make a flow chart of my process. Can anyone help me out and suggest the steps I should take to start and end this project in a fruitful manner. Even if anyone doesn't knows the proper way, he/she can may share the feeling or their ideas about the project.

hello....

Hope this helps:

1. Start by identifying & understanding your own recruitment processes.

2. Divide the recruitment process into logical steps - for instance, you first identify that people have to be recruited (which department, what kind of people, education qualification etc), then you decide how you want to recruit etc. So identify the sequence. map it out.

3. Now map each variable in the sequence. That will make up your questionnaire as to what you want to benchmark. Some examples of questions could be:

a. Time taken between identifying recruitment need and placing an ad in newspaper.

b. method of recruitment (Ads / Placement agencies / campus placements/ etc)

based on the above you could further pinpoint some more areas to put into the questionnaire.

4. After your questionnaire is ready identify the companies you'd like to benchmark with.

5. Give calls, fix appointment and collect information.

6. Do your data analysis. make reports. Benchmark & give recommendations.

Some words of caution:

1. Try as MUCH AS POSSIBLE to get quantifiable information. qualitative information is more difficult to benchmark.

2. Have a sizeable number of companies covered - too small will be ineffective - unless the sector you are covering has few companies. Your statistical analysis could get skewed is the sample number of companies is too small.

3. Add an error margin - a few companies will give you appointments and not be willing to answer all questions. So if you want a smaple of say 15 companies, fix appointments with atleast 18 to 19 companies.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

hello i have also done my summer training project on benchmarking on recruitment and i m sharing it with you hope this will help you
1-first map the whole process of recruitment in the organisation ,lead time involved in that process(from the manpower planning till the placement of the candidate) , than communication flow involved in that process(department to department).here you can also suggest some ideas to reduce the lead time if possible
2-than prepare the questionnaire and fix up the appointment with the companies you want to benchmarkthan analyse those information you collect than do a comparative analysis of it
3-than collect the advertisement of different companies with whom you benchmark.
than come up with the conlusions and recommendations.
hope this will help you
all the best
