Shops & Establishment Act Applicability for Hospitals

Dear All,

Please confirm whether Hospitals come under Shops & Establishment Act?
If yes, please give the exact clause to confirm this.

Shops and Establishments Act is a state Act. As per Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, hospitals are covered. As per Minimum Wages Act also hospitals come under scheduled employment. Payment of Wages Act also applies to hospitals. Therefore, there cannot be any chance of excluding hospital from the definition of establishment under any state's Shops and Establishments Act.

Hospital may come under the Shops and establishments Act in Andhra Pradesh also as it does not come under Factories Act or Plantations Act.
