The simplest ans i can share is do a gap analysis, do a study on the profile of the team-whole Knowledge,Skills,Attitude.Check their tasks and Job descriptions.. you will get a pic of where you have to go and where you are and what you will need to add on to reach the destination!
apart from questionaires/interview from team members,do check Performance appraisal reports , co mission and targets too. u can get some sort of reports from immediate supervisors/mrgs for immediate requrements..
