Does the Min Wages fixed by the respective State govts apply to Central govt PSU's/Banks/FI's operating in those States or whether there is nay MOn wage fixed by the Central Govt seperately for these org's.
Minimum Wages Act is applicable to all establishments in the SCHEDULED EMPLOYMENT irrespective of whether they are under the control of government or private. Banking is one of the employments named in the schedule and therefore, minimum wages Act will be applicable to banks. Similarly, if the PSU is engaged in an employment under the schedule of the Act, then the PSU should follow minimum wages fixed by the govt. Regards, Madhu.T.K
