Hi Sujata,
Team builing exercises are underatken in organisations so that one is able to get an understanding of colleagues in an out of office situations.
Usually such workshops are conducted in a location away from the office where people are able to delink the office and interact with not just their circle of contacts which are the case in offices.
The process would have a set of exercises based on a theme. These exercises are designed in such a way that would be maximum interaction between the team members.
The result organisations intent on achieving while conducting a team building is personal rapport amoung the team members which will add value in work situations
There are training consultants that are into the outbound team building workshops
I hope this helps.

Hi Shrein, I believe it...It happens when everyone are together. What about when because of 1 person everybody suffers. So we can’t do Team Building Excercise!! Regards, Swati

Hi Swati,
It is best when all in the team are present, But Iguess you cant have everyone's convenience taken care off. You have to cut off at some point or else you cannot make this happen.
Ideal situation would be to announce the date of the team building exercise at the beginning of the year so that everyone can plan accordingly but there sure will be absentees on account of work/family etc
Thanks
