Hi,
Wearing uniform and ID batch is a basic hygiene that very employee should follow, let it b the MD or a worker.
What i suggest is :
1. Pls take meeting batchwise of all employees and educate them about the serious of the issue. Even in schools/colleges children wear uniforms whether they like it or not.

2. Mark mail to all HOD regarding serious of the issue. Attach a circular to the mail and get signatures of the respective employees in the dept. Which will indicate that they have read it and will abide by rule of wearing uniform.

3. If employee is found not wearing uniform issue a warning letter for the 1st time. Then show casue letter. Or the employee should not be allowed to swipe his time card / enter the premise of the organisation.

The above step is a bit harsh but the HR should be strict at times. Most important, as u r new in HR please keep your higher authorities informed about your action..... just to be on the safer side.

Dear Ishita,

Instead of thinking of impsoing PENALTY, why not think of APPRECIATION to those who follow your Uniform Policy ! I mean to say, more or less everyone in this discussion have suggested the negative approach for implementing a system. Will anybody disagree with me if I suggest that keep it as one of the criteria for appraising performance?

Those who follow company policies should be given some weightage for that in their appraisal ratings. Those who do not, no Penalty. Instead, the reward for wearing the Uniform should be so lucrative enought that the necessity of imposing penalty is automatically becomes null. Gradually, wearing a uniform will become a habit and that is what you want, right?

Try it.

Hi Ishita,

First of all the Team leads should bring this trend , they should follow it srtictly gradually this will bring change to the whole team.

You can put pressure on team lead to take strict measures to get the team wear the uniform.

Also you can announce some kind of reward for employee who sincerely following , this will be help you both in rewards and recognition and employee will be motivated

According to me, this matter can be handlled in a proffessional way, if such a authority is given to u u should rectify the things the likes dislike weather u can modify the things, and have to be stick to the point u want to do.

Just use ur authority of things and follow up the things.
