we have recently installed a scruber for the oven exhaust in our plant , the flue gases mainly contain ammonia , formaldehyde. Can you pl guide on the minimum chimney height.

Ben Pandher
Hi Karampal,
The height of the chimney will depend on your regional government requirements, you should check if a point of impingement concentration requirement is established by the regulatory framework. The height of chimney should be sufficient that the ammonia and formaldehyde concentrations at your property boundary are within acceptable limits. Hope this helps.

Dear Ben,

Six Sigma is a set of qualitative and Quantitative techinques to systematically improve processes by eliminating defects and process variation. It is essentially the byproduct of decades of quality improvement methodologies such as Zero Defects. Like its predecessors, Six Sigma asserts that:

-Process variation is an obstacle to reliably delivering high quality products and services, as defined by the customer,

-Continual focus on reducing process variation is the foundation for business improvement and success,

-All business processes (manufacturing, service, administrative, etc.) can be measured, analyzed, controlled, and improved,

-Effective problem solving can only be achieved by data driven decision making, and

-Achieving and maintaining quality improvement requires an organizational commitment that comes from senior management.

These are the tool how we can do it.....

-Process Mapping

-Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Measurement System Assessment (MSA)

-Design of Experiments (DOE)

-Regression Analysis

-Hypothesis Testing

-Quality Functional Deployment (QFD)

-Cause & Effect Diagram/Matrix

-Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)

-Mistake Proofing

-Graphical Analysis (Pareto Charts, Run Charts, Histograms, etc.)

Hope this info helps ur purpose.

regards
