Hi all i wanted to know how we calculate the earned leaves. do we take into account the number of week offs/earned leaves/holidays into account against the number of working days? or we exclude the earned leaves. say x has taken 3 earned leaves in a 22 working day month do we calculate the earned leaves for that month by excluding the 3 leaves they have taken? please advise.

Earned leave / sick leave compensation against notice period.
I am working with an engineering mnc registered in mumbai ihave resigned and serving notice period of three months. i have 54 earned leaves 30 sick leaves and 7 casual leaves. i am told by my superiors that i cannot surrender my earned leaves against notice period for reduction in notice period and at the same time i cannot avail the earned leave also. in our company the earned leave cannot be compensated by cash and it can be carry forwarded for two years. please guide that is there any policy of government for earned leave compensation. can i take any legal recourse if i am not allowed to surrender my earned leaves or sick leaves against notice period and also not allowed to avail the earned leave during notice period.

Hi a company i know of in gurgaon has 24 earned leaves that is how it is labelled as. i want to know if it is mandatory to classify annual leaves as: 1. earned leaves 2. casual leaves 3. sick leaves are there other companies within dehi/ncr that have a common bucket without classifying as el cl and sl of leaves? could someone please insights around this? thank you. regards satyajit

Under shop and establishment act of indian government. what is the clause or rule for calculating earned leaves for an employee. does an employer actually needs to earn such leaves or he gets it directly after completion of 1 year of his/her service.
