Hi,

I would like to share with you the employee review of Tata Consultancy Services on <link outdated-removed> ( Search On Cite | Search On Google )

The review is based on 14 specific parameters. Here employees are sharing their opinion about salary and workplace.

What they like about my work place
TCS initial learning program is good. People in Higher Management enjoy most of the privileges in the company. All the opportunities vest with them.

What I don't like about my work place
The Performance evaluation system within TCS is not at all good. There have been instance of pure partiality during the performance evaluation of an associate.

Hi
It's really useful site which gives an insight on the best and top companies.
Can someone share as how many employees of these companies have participated in the surveys in the site and how it is different from the internal ESS reports of the company.
Hence would like to know the authencity of the data and views generated.

Hi Rajat/ Khushi,

Thanks very much for your queries. Here are answers for all your queries:

More than 32000 employees from 2500 employers have shared their salaries/experiences on <link outdated-removed> ( Search On Cite | Search On Google )

The difference from internal ESS surveys is that since the site is anonymous, the experiences shared are likely to be that much more honest and forthright.

Another difference is that the employees have an opportunity to express themselves in an open-ended manner... in the sense that the findings are not limited to what the 'management' wants to know - an employee can speak about anything that is on his/her mind.

ESS are usually conducted once or twice a year, while the site is a real-time barometer of the true feelings of people inside a company.

Regarding authenticity, we believe that there may be some exaggerations, but on the whole reading a number of reviews about a company would give you a fairly accurate general picture, since there is no incentive for anybody to lie.

Please revert back in case you have any other query.

Many Thanks

Hi Sanjay,
I have gone through your mail and it is not correct to conclude that there is partiality in performance appraisal. Normally corporates does appraisal based on Key Responsibilities Area (KRA), Key Performance Area (KPA) and some organisations treat it as Key Peformance Indicators (KPI) and the ratings are done form 1 to 1 being low and 5 being high , since the parameters are being set, there is little scope for any individual for making partiality inthis regard.
The basis of Performance Appraisal is to analyze the strength and weakness of individual at work and to improve on their skills sets wich is called Performance Management.
I hope you understood the concept.

Hi,
Thank you Raghunath for sharing your view point. I completely agree with your thought process on performance management.
However, you would appreciate that we are talking about transperancy in the system and not partiality. The responses on the site are completely user generated. It is the employee view point that they are sharing w.r.t own experiences in their respective workplaces.
Regards,
Sanjay
