Can anyone please clarify weather special allowance and dearness allowance is one and the same or seperate? Has pf and gratuity to be calculated on basic + da or only basic?

Hi,
Every 6 months minimum wges changes by increasing special allowance so it has to be considered as DA in case if you are not paying DA seperately.
For caliculation of PF you have to consider the wages as Basic+DA.

some court has given decesion that it should be considered as DA
but now this month LLR there was a decesion of PF tribunal
where clearly mentioned that special allowance is no DA and no PF will be deducted on it.
