Hi,
I am sure every HR person will face similar kind of situation during his/her carrier in HR. Lets equipped with the right templates/ draft copy on this matter.
One of our office collegues father passed away yeterday, on the same need to send a mail to the office staff.
i have drafted one but i beleive, there is a scope of improvisation.
Request the HR fraternity to share there mails template on the subject.
Mail Draft:
"Our heartfelt condolence to "Emp Name", we pray the almighty gives her all the strength in overcoming the irreplaceable loss of her father Mr.xxxxxxx last evening. May his soul rest in peace."

maybe you can get some ideas...to add on..you know ur employee well or just make a small enquiry about that employee and based on his/her nature write some soothing lines(start in an informal way endup in a formally saying that pls accept our deepest condolences from all your colleagues/staff)

You could mention the nature of death.
And you could also request a silent 2 minutes prayer for all of them to observe.
If reqd you could mention if anyone is leaving from the office to her place. if so, the time.

Dear all,

It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the sad demise of Mr. < Name> , who passed away last Saturday in a car accident.

Jagdeep joined us in <Month year> as <position name> and was based at <location>. The sad incident happened on Saturday morning when his car met with an accident and he was reported dead along with the co-passenger. He was just <age> years of age and leaves behind his wife and two children.
