What is the procedure to get Contract Lincese Under contract

Hi all,

We are operating small factories in different locations but in the same name within the radius of 2 k.ms and have a individual Factory license for each unit. I have a doubt can we get a one combined Contract license under contract act from the IOF for different units.

Unit I - 10 contract employees
Unit II - 8
Unit III - 20
Unit IV - 20

Please give your suggestions

Dear muthu,
registration of establishment under contract labour act is given for the premises where the contract labour are deployed.
it will be in ur favour to apply for seprate registration of each unit provided u have engagaed 20 or more contract labour. since u fave obtained seprate factory licences for each unit, u should maintain seprate identities of each unit iall respect regds

Dear Muthu,

First clear it whether you are engaging a Contractor Or You are contractor,

If u want to engage contractor then do what Mr Kausik has suggested

if You are contractor obtain Form V separately from every owner of the factory where you have engaged 20 or more labour and apply for the license for every single Factory.

at which stage employer is liable for contract licence?

at very initial stage?

or any factory can employ less than 20 contract employees without contract licence?

which one is true?

Dear Manisha,

To get to know in and out of engaging contract labour, you can attend the programme organised by AIMA (All India Management Association) on 9th & 10th July 2007 at Pune. They are organising the same programme in Chennai also on 4th & 5th July 2007.

I have already attended the programme two years back. The programme is very useful and informative for HR Professionals.
