I am currently assigned to re-structure all the HR policies in my present organization, I request you to share the following policies if you have,

1. Disciplinary policy

2. Rewards and Recognition policy

3. Employee Canteen and Transportation subsidy policy

4. Overtime Policy

5. HR Manual Policy

6. Employee Provident fund Policy

7. Employee Gratuity policy

8. Non-employees Insurance coverage policy

9. Travel policy – International

10. Employee Loans/ Advances policy

11. Compensatory–off policy

12. Employee extra working hours/ Dinner/Transportation policy

All policy eg, leaves, canteen, transport,overtime, all are covered in HR Manual and will be signed by MD,CEO,HR HOD,other HODs.

Dear Mr Sekar,

I am replying to you without mincing the words. Although I am not aware of your profile or your set up one gets a feeling that you are a fresher in employment or in the HRD department.

You have made a long list of policies on HR issues. It would be tempting to download the pages or articles or format on your HR issues. That is the short route. Everyone will rush to help you out with their background or experience. Which means what you may adopt in your company will not be the original work by you which any management expects of you.

Though any forum meant to exchange their views with the like minded people that is only one portion of learning in any body 's career. Pleasae go through the HR books (please invest on books) and journals and case studies. It is a hard work requiring the application of your educational background, notes you have made in your previous internship and your knowledge you have so far (if) gained . It may take days to even to understand the grip of concepts of Hr Policies. But that will stay in your mind as the original thinking and will surely come in handy. These days thinking and analysis are clearly undermined even to the freshers who are supposed to apply their minds.

Talk to your seniors and friends and prepare some drafts which may be criticised. But that is learning. Please do not take the luxury of downloading the articles and formats without any ground or preparatory work from your side.

I may sound little different but that is bare fact. Hard Learning of the fundamentals does not mean you ask for and expect the sea of information without your contribution.
