Hi,
To cut the cost we could practice the following.
1. Cut the telephone and mobile calls. We need to plan for the calls and ensure that we document the communication so that there is no repeated calls.
2. Travel cost.- Plan for the Travel share the responsibilities so that one person need not travel for simple or one task.
3. Usage of Internet could be managed.
4. Creamy allowances of TOP or middle managers can be based on their performance not on rank
5. Ensure that all employees work during the specified work time and not extend the same. If you find some one extending check out for the reason and take corrective measure to put it right
6. Cut the Lodging expenses for shorter trips.
7. Manage the courier cost. You can send ordinary communication trough mail or registered post or even speed post to save cost rather than desk to desk services.

Dear Shweta ,
all the reply are really appreciated. but here one thing is missing which is one of most important part for co-orporate, i.e., Parties & function.(either less organise party or make this company gathring only).
1. Travelling/tour: a) if Air travelling : make it economic class or convert it in
Railway/AC compartment.
2. fix the exact amount for phone expences: in case if thats amount is more than
fix amount, then you can take action either stop the service or cut that exeeded
amount from his/her salary.
3. not only stationery or electricity bill, but also we reduced the use of nternet .
this will also help in reducing cost.

Dear Sweta,
Cost cutting has become a tread now, and every org is implementing it after recussion period.
You question is genuine, and the replies you got may motivate others also to implement the same in their organisations.
We also have are trying hard on cost sutting, just imagine urself how good a home maker you can, a good home maker is one who allocates a budget in the beginning of the month and works out to meet the goal at the end of the month.
So, my suggestion is BUDGET.
Give a budget to each department, and if they cross that, they will be waived of the service.
Make a budget, keeping in view the expenses incurred in the last 3 month average and + 20%. and u can have a margin of addition 10% with out their knowledge.
Hope u like my idea.
