Whats the difference between MPM(Masters in Personnel Management) and MBA(HR)???????

Hi All,

I would like to know is there any difference between MBA(HR) and MPM. As far as I know,in MPM we study only HR from the day one as I have done MPM and in MBA(HR) we study all the papers in the 1st yr and specialises in HR in the 2nd year. When I got married my parents told my in-laws that I did MBA(HR), but I have done MPM. Now they say that we have cheated them. So, I want to tell them it's all the same.
Please reply?????

Hi Sweta,

If one has done MBA he has a chance to change his line.where as if
you have done MPM you have to go for HR/personnel only. This is the
only difference.nothing else.
Still people are not well versed with the management courses and they
take MBA certification as status symbol .thats all.

I have already done my two year full time PG dip in mngt(equal to MBA) but still few people ask is it MBA or just diploma.cant help.

I am in search of institutes providing MPM through distance learning
please if you know mail me the institute addresses

I did regular MPM from pune from CMRD(Vikhe Patil Foundation) college. I am not sure if they have correspondence programme, but still you can check on it's website www.cmrd.org.
