Dear Ramakrishna,
Contract employee means an employee recruited by an external party and hired by your company.....
when an employee is recruited by any agency or an external party, that agency / party issues a appointment letter to the employee....Since the employee is not on your company's payroll / no employed by your company then you cannot issue them a appointment letter...
also the ESIC and PF amount is shown / submitted by the agancy / party to the respective ESIC and PF Inspector / Commisoner's office.....
It can happen that your company can pay the salary to the contract employees or it can be done from the agency or external party.....
Also am attaching a Contrsct Labour Act...It might help you...

Hi Ramakrishna, If you are hiring a contract employee directly to your company then The company should issue an appointment letter and also you should deduct PF and PT for them. Thanks, Vimala
