PHR Certification - To do or not to do!
Dear Seniors,

I've completed MBA in HR in 2004 from Pune University and have been working since then in the field of HR. I have been wanting to study further from quite some time now. I came across the certification courses on PHR, SPHR and GPHR.

Wanted to know from you all if it is worthwhile doing those certification courses, i.e., will it add value? Also, if you can tell me the fees for these certification courses in Indian Currency.

Hi,

These exams are basically related to the U.S Fedaral Laws; In India few companies of origin in U.S consider this qualification as esteem. You may refer to the site www.hrci.org.

Dear Prachi,

For doing you GPHR you have to complete 6 Module and it can be done by e-learning you buy the study material and give the examination online the cost for the study material for each module is $650 which in today rate @ 49 is about INR- 31,850.

The main problem of the certification is that you have to recertifed you self again after one year for which you have to obation points by attending the seminars conducted by certain certified instituion (basically very few such seminars are conducted in India).

I hope this information will be helpfull to you.

Thanks,

Regards,

k.hari
