Career Guidence
Hi All,
Hope you all are doing well..
I have just registered myself to this site..

I am somewhat confused about my career. I have completed BE in Electrical and Electronics and then MBA in HR. Now am working in a consultancy as a HR Recruiter for NON IT for all most 3 months.

I want to learn all the aspects of HR and also interested in SAP. So please guide me which path i have to take for a sucessful career in HR in a good company.

Looking for your suggestions.

Thanks and Regards

Re: Career Guidence
Hi,
Recruitment offers a lot of money and opportunities to perform the same task at various levels. I have nothing against it. But Recruitment alone will NOT give you comprehensive exposure to the HR function or to man management.

I am impressed but amused to see people doing graduation in engineering and turning to area like HR. The reason can't be easy employment opportunities. Engineers get better placed at the campus itself.

In fact the combination of qualification that you possess is extremely good for handling comprehensice HR responsibility and raise its competence levels as also its utility levels but NOT just Recruitment!! The other thing I obbserve is that you are working with a consultant and that means you are far away from hands on of other areas of HR and likely to remain so till you work with a Consultant (Recruitment or otherwise)

I suppose you should steer your candidatute for a HR job in an organization, manufacturing industry, service industry, IT or ITES, in that sequence, but please ensure that you get exposed to areas other than recruitment, if you want to grow into a comprehensive HR person.

In this advice, I may have been harsh, but I want you to look at the reality and quickly get into a proper HR job if you want to be a HR person!

Regards
