Dear Philanthropist,

Professional ethics is related to the moral issues which arise on account of specialized know how which professionals attain, and how the use of this knowledge should be governed when providing a service to the public. More on lines of code of conduct. Like Lawyers are supposed or obliged to maintain confidentiality in clients’ case, whereas personally he might know other facts too. But his professional ethics guide him to diligently follow his code of professional ethics and seek justice.
Business ethics or Corporate Ethicsis a form of applied ethics that examines ethical principles and moral or ethical problems that arise in a business environment.Like international business ethics, ethics of production
Whereas General Ethics are set of moral code or conduct like righteousness etc.
The above mentioned points of differentiation are according to my knowledge
Hope this piece of information helps you:)

hi Philanthropist,I do agree with S Shalu post.Coperate ethics deals with the things that pertain that industry or the organisation as a whole (things accepted). Every institution has the way it goes about the style, business operations, negotiations, personal relations etcProffessional ethics also deals of the person's professional associations or qualifications ethics. At times they tend to clash.for example as an Accountant, it is expected that they pay all the company's tax responsilities and employees entitlement but this can clash with a company who want to avoid taxes. hope this will make a meaningthanks

I have a doubt - according to the explanation given by you all; business ethics refers to ethics or the code of conduct one needs to follow during the course of his business.
Professional ethics (lawyer's case) refers to those code of conduct to be followed in ur profession.
Isn't it that both the things are coinciding? the only difference being .....Proffessional ethics also deals of the person's professional associations or qualifications ethics.
One more thing the recent example of "China’s scandal over tainted milk" will this come under Business or professional ethics?
