Dear Dudes,
I need the clarification regarding Bonus

How to calculate the Bonus whether in Gross or Basic

If Basic ? what are the criteria we have to consider for it

What are the allowances has to be added while calculating Bonus

Whether HRA is exempted from it

Conveyance and Special Allowances has to be taken care or it

Pls guide with appropriate materials

Hi ,

Bonus is only calculated on Basic + Da .no other things are taken into consideration.

take the figures of basic + Da for each month in a year ,add them.and on that 8.33% is the bonus amount.

again as per the bonus Act if the basic + da is within 10,000 then consider it as 3500 as a base salary and on that 8.33% will be the bonus.
if it is above 10,000 bonus is not applicable.

Bonus is paid on total remuneration.

It is applicable for those earning upto 10,000/- per month.

The limit to calculate bonus is upper ceiling of Rs. 3,500/-

Min bonus is 8.33%

Max bonus is 20%

So for employee earning Rs 10,000/- per month for 12 months bonus payable is 3500 * 12 * 20% = Rs 8400/- (Maximum bonus)

mr rajeev is correct ,bonus is calculated on basic+DA ,not total renumeration as u have mentioned please.
