Dear Friends,
We have planned to conduct a full fledged induction programme in our organization from Nov,08.Ours is a small company with a total employee strength of 250 and we will have around 10-12 new joiners every month.
The management has asked me to do the induction for at least two days. I have already prepared the schedule in which I have included some sessions for team building, personality development , Guest lecture(tech&sales related).I am planning to invite a third party org to handle this sessions.
Is this a good idea ?
Please suggest some ideas to keep the new joinees engaged and to make the session more interesting. What else could be done or usually done?
Looking forward for your suggestions,
Thanks & Regards

Hi Sharmila,
Its good that you have thought a induction prog. for all the new joinees, you can prepare a ppt. presentation in which include all your co. details, policies and any unique feature/policy in favour of employees. Also you can present in the induction prog. in breaks.Say tea/lunch break in between presentation some senior professionals can also come to deliver their experiences with the co. and what they have learned or thier findings with the co. also.......
Thanks

Hi,
Do include in your schedule introduction of new joinees to the people they may have to interact with from day one. More the better. One way may be, if you have a system of informal meeting comprising of top 30 - 40 people of your company, to have these individuals being formalyy introduced. A word or two from the your Company Head welcoming these individuals at this gathering will do a lot and straight away help them to start feeling part of the set up.
Lastly, induction is best done by the Company people themselves, as they can display their passion and commitment, rather than an outside agency.
Enjoy your task

Dear sharmila,
You can include departmental induction i.e. in this each departmental representative will come and explain about the hierarchy, functions and thier coordinationpart with other department and sharing the important numbers and mail ids to develop comfort zone for the new joinees as they will be familiar with the key people of various departments.
Even you can take them on virtual tour of your organozation to show them location of various departments and introducing them to the other employees.
Hope this will help you...
