Hi Rishi,

First of all, i disagree that Infosys and TCS are best companies in terms of Environment and conditions.

Secondly, it surely happens in many companies that if the person is very loyal and does not perform, is given a second chance and benefit of doubt.
Don't you think so??

Thirdly, if you are loyal to the job only, you will not stick to the same company as you can get the same job somewhere else also.

As you correctly say, that employees leave their Managers and not their companies.(It is also not correct in all situations)

Cheers

Hi Archna
I quite agree with you.
But a good environment for me may not be the same for you. It is all a matter of perceptions.

Hi All,

A long discussion going on the topic..I agree with some of you very much. As usual, Ma'm Archana has stimulated our thought process..

As she mentioned about the high attrition rate in IT and BPO industry, I would like to say a few things.

1. We all must agree to the fact that 'Man has become extremely greedy'. Once an employee get a competitive pay package, he starts looking for MORE immediately in next 2-3 months. Our greed is unending and has made us restless to achieve more in material terms.

2. Once a person is used to get more than his/her ability, he assumes it as his right (he forgets that many a times companies offer more salary and perks just to attract talent), and aggressively starts looking for more..

3. Long working hours, heavy workload is not to be complained off by people in IT/ITES industry. Because, their compensations were started high to compensate these factors only. Otherwise, who will pay a fresher engineer in IT, a package of 3 lakhs???? We forget this point.
In mfg. industry, I had read a concept called 'dirty jobs'. There are some jobs which involve more hardships than regular jobs (eg. worker working near boiler in steel industry), and to compensate such hardships, the compensation package for such jobs will be more...According to me, the same applies to IT/ BPO also..
Don't you think, we all are forgetting this?

And as this problem of attrition is growing day by day, companies are giving more and more facilities, pay, etc. ..there seems to be no end to it!! Ultimately, all these things are going to increase the cost of the products or services.

Archana madam and other member, Do I sound some sense??

Mrinal
