Re: Need your precious Advice Hi,
You are absolutely right.
One must never hide his reality-not because one day it might be found out but because it is a wrong thing to do anyway. Teaching is a noble profession. One should be proud of it but not wear pride on the shirt sleeve.
When you have three years experience which is strictly speaking not relevant to what the employer needs, your entry is going to be tough no doubt!
But you can do the following. Be a lot tactful to sell your ware strategically. This begins from the making suitable resume and ends with handling the sensitive issues in the interviews. This is possible!
Alternatively, you may start teaching, even part time, the subjects that are relevant to industry and make that as your usp-a sound conceptual base and exposure to a variety of situations depicted by the problems.
What will help you, in your present predicament and always is the art of effective communication, tact and dignity besides a large network of friends, students and well-wishers in industry.
It may take time but given the determination and strategy, you will achieve your goal. It is much better to be transparent during the selection process itself that to keep pn making explanations later when people start finding out things about you and start questioning you. If this happens, your credibilit will take a beating and the even the future job changes will become difficult!
