Dear all,

the site is so informative, i think its great to share your knowledge with others.

Can any one help me to understand,

What is earned leave, which law binds it as obligation and method of paying it. i have heard few organisations pay 1 day for every 20 days of physical working days including weekly offs and holidays and excluding leave availed. some other organisations are paying in the same lines but 30 days of leave per every completed year. Request insight on this issue please....

Dear Uma,

Every Organisation is bound to pay EL as per Factory/Shop Act. As per law you are bound to provide one EL on each twenty working days. (Specified as per Standing Order, Employees on Probation are not entitle)That's come arround 15 per year.

These leave will encashed on basic wages only.
