What if you land up in an organisation where most of the people say, "WHY HR"? What reasoning would you give to let the people know the power of HR in an organisation? Awaiting to read the ideas of HR fraternity! Come on, come up with innovative, logical ideas / points!

Nice question you have raised that "Why HR"

In my view HR is the only department which portrays the company objectives as in terms of policies and vision.......

Every organization have the this well trained and experienced Dept...
HR helps in projection of future business developments...
HR makes employees to feel that they are a part of the organizations..
HR makes the environment like family ,provides the comfort zone..
HR Dept is known as designed for the organization & for Employees...
HR acts as recruitor,Cost Centre,organization developer,manpower projection,budget projector,
HR helps organization to perform at it's best by providing the right person for the right job...
HR designs the company limitations,structure,policies & if required redesign them.
By stating that this firm is employee friendly truly means the HR is cooperative..
HR maintains trust worthy relationship with employee so as to make the work place comfortable..
HR maintains the existing resources of the organization and tries to use it efficiently..
HR introduce the best possible incentives and acts as a motivators to many of employees
HR also keep a track of company progress and also of an employee.

So,In all these ways HR is important and is a integral part of any organization and also plays a vital role in company's success...

Hi Tania!
HR is the intellectual asset of the company. The other resources will remain unproductive/less productive if they are not properly hanled by HR. HR is the only resource of a company which competitiors can't copy. And its the only resource which can synergize to give output which is much more than sum of its parts.

HI,
1) HR is is blood to the organisation, if we assume a body without blood, then nothing can exits.
2) HR make employee feel company as their home.
3) HR himself has less pay package but when they recruit a technical person, we all know what are the expectation.
4) HR is a person who at bad times, have to make employee motivated and keep the same for him.
5) HR makes the day by day more intresting.
6) employee's look at HR at HOPE.

Hi tania,
In simple HR is like a brain of any company. As our human body is controlled by our brain, similarly the company is controlled by the HR Department. If the brain stops functioning then the whole body also stops functioning. All the successful persons in the world are having good head / brain on his / her shoulder. Similarly all successful companies have a good HR Department functioning. So you should be proud to be part of HR Department. But ensure that nobody raise finger agaisnt HR Department.

Dear Tania,
HR is the base of the organisation. As without base any constructions could not be completed, Same as without HR any organisation can't be run. In running organisation its work just like wheels of vehicles.

Dear All,
First of all though i am in HR, i simply don't understand the reason for asking such questions(like why HR, why Marketing, why Finance).
If a person is in any field it can be either because he is interested in that area or it was a choice he made as there were no other options available. In any case what actually matters is his knowledge in that specific area and his willingness to do that job.
Another concern is these questions are so obvious that anyone who goes for an interview prepares for such questions.
So what is the reason one should ask such question?
Hope you agree with me. Even if not kindly let me know. So that if i am wrong atleast that will change my perception and i will also start asking this question to my candidates.

Hi Taniya,
Whenever somebody asks you WHY HR,Just let them remind its the HR only who brought you into the organisation
Its the HR only that takes care of you and your family by providing you alll the benefits(salary & perks)on time. No other department bothers to look into such matters.
Its HR only that keeps employees happy and motivated all the time by arranging events for them.
Its only HR who brings best talent of market into the organisation.
Its the Blood & Back bone of any organisation
