Job Title: Buyer
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for the purchase of materials and services on a site or regional basis. Ensures accurate definition of requirements, interprets licensing agreements, negotiates local purchase orders, utilizes procurement system consistent with Equistar and Lyondell (the Enterprise) control guidelines. Utilizes a site support network for timely acquisition of site managed materials and services while achieving maximum overall cost effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS or BA Undergraduate Degree or equivalent relevant manufacturing and / or commercial experience
Experience
- Equivalent and progressive experience relating to purchasing and materials management.
- Experience in a software technology environment is desirable.
Administrative Requirements
- Progressive level of skill in communication, initiative, work-planning competencies.
- Good communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in a PC Windows environment including SAP software applications.
- Material Master/Catalog experience
- License interpretation experience
- Invoice Reconciliation
- Purchase Order Creation
Commercial Requirements
- Good negotiating skills, good judgement & results oriented.
- Demonstrated procurement skills.
Technical Requirements
- SAP Transactional experience (v5.0 preferred)
- Contract Administration- Documentum Software knowledge preferred
