| Re: Consultants on contract Hi
I am new to this Network and find it rather interesting. I currently work for an International NGO in Central Asia. We do employ consultants on a regular basis for periods ranging from 1 - 3 months. They are compensated on actual work days with a six day work week. so it is no work, no pay. However the national staff are also hired on contracts since their longevity is based on the duration of a project. So for a one year contract, we offer 17 working days of annual leave but only 5 days can be carried forward to the next year. A/L balance at the end of contract is encashable.
We international staff are also on contracts and A/L is granted as follows:
15 days for 1st 5 years of service, 20 days for 5-10 years; and 30 days for more than 10 years. These are regular contracts and can be terminated at will with 2 month's notice.
Hope this helps
