See it depends on company to company. many company deducts notice period with basic and day and many company goes with groww salary. i think your company goes with the same. gross salary. you see your appointment letter it must be mentioned in that.

HI Kewlmick,
Please check your employee manual. You can take it from the HR dept. Usually, the rules are different for Part-timers, probationers and Confirmed Employees.
By ur replies, i feel that may be in your probation period your notice pay recovery was based on ur basic only but once you are confirmed, may be ur gross salary is considered for calculation.
And, since you are a confirmed employee, you must have had leave balance to be encashed, which might have been adjusted against your notice pay recovery of 10000 and the rest of 4300 was deducted.
Please ask ur HR dept or the Finance dept for a clarification

Dear Kewlmick,
I would suggest you to go thru the appintment letter issued to you. In every organisation, the conditions for applicability of notice period is specified in the appointment letter. Based on the conditions, you will be able to spk to your finance professionals regarding the same.
thanks
