Compensatory Off and availing of such leave are internal issues. You can have your rules in this regard. As far as possible make it available in the standing orders itself. Otherwise, communicate among the employees about the procedure of availing C.Offs.
There shall not be any difference between staff and workers and permanent workers and temporary workers in respect of compensatory off. Only thing is that compensatory off for 'hours worked' shall be discouraged.

Hi -

Compensatory Off is a provision which internal to the organization. Standard rules should be set by the Company for availing Compensatory Off.

Some of these that we follow are:

- Employees on probation as well as confirmed employees can avail CO
- Can be availed for working on a weekly off / holiday only
- Person should have worked on a weekly off / holiday for minimum 5-6 hours to claim a CO
- Not applicable for working late i.e. late stay
- Cannot be combined with leaves
- Cannot be availed prior and approved later (need to obtain an approval from the manager before proceeding on CO just like leave)
- Cannot be encashed
- Avail CO within 60 days else it shall lapse

Regards,
Nikita
