Default Technical round- Interview

Hi,

I would be having a technical round which would be on telephone.
This is for a corporate trainers position (behavioral / Soft Skills)
I have no idea what kind of questions would be asked on the telephonic round.

Kindly help me with this..

Hi AJ,

The telephonic interviews usually starts with understanding of your skills sets pertaining to Soft Skills Trainer.

A trainer needs to have fairly good communication skills, understanding of the subject and expertise along with the understanding of the Management knowledge. Should be creative, high sense of self awareness and able to empathize with the people.

Usually they will ask as how you go about conducting TNA, methodology for the training etc.

They would or rather should ask you about adult learning theories. If you can tell them what ADDIE or ICARE or even what the Kirkpatrick evaluation theories are - you can bet – they would rate you as a skilled trainer.

Or they may ask how you dealt with a participant who falls asleep and how do you ensure class participation.

Just treat the interview process especially the telephonic one exactly as one would behave in person with them.


Am sharing some useful hints for the telephonic interview which should assist you;

*It helps to dress well in formals rather in shorts or casual for a telephone interview as you would for a face-to-face interview. It provides one a confidence and after all “Dress Maketh Man” is very apt.

* Introduce yourself clearly and directly. Engage in some “small talk” at the start of the interview, just as you would a face-to-face interview.

* Speak clearly into the receiver and modulate your voice. Your voice is the only way you have of showing eagerness, enthusiasm and zest for the job. Your voice reveals both personality and attitude toward the interviewer.


* Do smile! It makes a big difference in a conversation, even on the telephone.

* Have your resume and the job profile with you for reference, and a pencil and some paper to make notes.

* Eliminate any distractions from your immediate environment like TV, newspapers, music system etc.
