Hi,

The balance of SL / CL is encashable as per the company policy. EL is basically earned leave. The applicability of encashment of EL will depend upon minimum no. of period completed. For Exp-as per Shop & Establishment Act minimum 90 days have to be completed to be eligibile for encashment of leave. As per Factories act 240 days are required. But in a case where perosn has be present 2/3 days of the total days during the year, he will be eligible for encashment of EL / PL . for exp-person joins in June and resignes in DEC of the smae year and he / she is present for 150 days, and asuming the total no of worked days are say 175 days, then he / she will be eligible for encashment of EL / PL even though he / she has not completed 240 days.

Regards,

Harshad
