Aim should be to build on a knowledge database which is shared to every one, for this to happen...
1. First make groups in each sector & assign a person in each sector to coalate the information
2. Use the web protal & publish the articles.
3. Each sector can have sections....eg: cite hr site.
4. Once the first step is finished ...take feedback....
5. Conduct meetings...make policies & so on...

Hai I am Raghu,

Before embarking on this project you need to be clear about what is your objective.

Bascially this gives Process, Product and quality improvements in an organization.

Each industry has its own core competency

Let us take an example Fertilizers Industry.

In this what is that you want to achieve in Knowledge management.

List down as a Matrix the critical positions which can affect Quality, Productivity and sales.

Let us take an example of Quality.

An experienced person in Mixing Department.

In your compounding department or Mixing department you will be having a SOP of what chemicals to be mixed with the quantity and duration of mixing. During the process of mixing the employee checks whether the mixing is correct, ( this is not a QC Check) if not correct he might set it right by adding chemicals are increasing temperature this is because of his experience. " This needs to be captured". Even his supervisor might not know about this.

Like this in each area we need to identify with the help of this matrix and capture those knowledge.

Start with

Knowledge Analysis

Knowledge Planning

Knowledge Technology

Wishing you all the very best

Regards

Raghu
