Hi Snowhite
Who should tell the seniors the answer to the above question posed by pmon?

If you meant Seniors should provide the answer, then my advise would be to write what is written in proper 'English'.

Have a nice day.
Narasimhan

Dear,

As far as the objective of your project is concern, its purely a HR activity. You have to recruit agents for them, you can apply different approaches/sources/channels of recruitment to get the job done. During your whole period of project you learn many things regardiung corporate world and of course HR practices.

Dont confuse yourself, if you have some other options then go for them otherwise its better even.

Hallo seniors,
I m doing MBA in (HR) Guwahati n hav single specialisation. While looking for HR project in various companies, I hav got a project in a renowned Life Insurance Comp.
Actually its a project-job, where i hav to recruit few Financial Consultants to the comp. (usually called Agents). I (or anyone who would do this project) would b get stipends per F.C. recruited . After da completion of prjt.(duration 2 months) they wl giv a certificate .
So u undrstand dat
its nt like da usual prjtdat we do. And still i hav to look for getting my prjt dat i can do as under my univrsity curricula.
But i m confusedwhether its an HRproject or a marketing prjt. As such i m nt able to decide whethr i should do dis prjt. (or nt) only for the certificate . Its its a mrkt.-prjt, den i think i should nt waste my time on it.
PLZ tell me seniors whether its an HR or Mkt.- project.

Plz rply soon -its urgent.

To my inderstanding....looking at the role of HR today HR cannot be defined. It means you should be ready to take up any assignment anywhere.Today we talk of alignment of HR strategies with the business and you are given a task of alignment your recruitment strategy with the business goals and objectives which is a very integral function of HR.You should take up this role seriously and keep reading so that you are more clear about the role.
It is just how you look at things and how you perceive the role of HR to be.This is very much a valid project provided you perform it in the MBA way and not as any other individual.

All the best for your project and waiting to hear from you regarding the project.

With Best Regards,
Kumar Manoj

Dear Friend,

Certainly not a marketing project.Infact I feel you can do a real good job if you plan and make excels of all that you do and then study the actual recruitment process.

The fact that you have deadlines is really good as in the real world scenario too youll have deadlines be it any profile. So its truely in your hands to make this job a summer project and actually leran from your own experience.

Regards,
Dr swati

Hi Vineeta/Vijeta/Anoop/Sonia,

I would like to know why it is not a HR project....I do agree it is not the typical kind of data collection and analysis project.

At the end of this 'exercise' from a learning point of view dont you think the individual will know what recruitment is all about and what are the pluses and minuses in it? Is'nt that a great value-add on CV? Is there any specific issue that I am missing out here - which is linked to recruitment of agents?

Please correct me if I am wrong - Recruitment & Selection is an integral part of HR.

Warm Regards,
Geetha

U can go with this project coz it will give u practical experience of market but u shd not give much time on that simulteneously u can take a good HR project for the same company . Like if u r recruiting agents, along with it u can take ' study on satisfaction level of employees or insurance advisor' or any other related project. So u can have practical market experience as well as HR learning. And will get stipend also.
