Hi Saumya,
This is an excellent programme for experienced people, but they would expect relevant experience. Few of my frineds have enrolled but they prefer more of HR expereince rather the irrelevant skills.

Hi,
Even I've enrolled myself for this program for Jan-09 session. Awaiting for my interview call only. I've heard that the course is not so easy as there'll be virtual classes conducted by the XLRI professors and there'll be a proper test and project work also. You can opt any service provider.
Is PGCHRM-XLRI is recognised by the good organisation. Please do some research at your end and inform accordingly. It'll be easier to decide, whether one should opt of the course or not.

Thats very nice that you are planning for this course...but i would suggest first you should make some research as to what type of a course you would like to pursue. I have no idea in what perspective your seniors are comparing other part time courses with this course...which i dont agree.

Firstly, all full time courses are given an upper hand over part time courses.
Secondly, the usual part time courses are not very intense and are very meagre in terms of assigments and project submissions and interaction. The course curriculum is not very effective too.

XLRI is rated the best B-School for HR in INDIA.
PGCHRM is a course specially designed for working professionals via VIRTUAL CLASSROOMS....i think i would rate virtual classrooms anytime better than a part time course. Apart from that it has a very intense curriculum having 23 subjects, to be completed in 14-16months with each subject having 2 quizes, presentations, 2 projects, assigments...etc...EVERY WEEK.....inclusive of office work. So mind it...its not an easy course you would get away with. You would also be directly interacting with XL professors when you would visit the campus for a week during the course which is compulsary.

Rest i would suggest you doing some talking with your HR manager and asking for prospects if you have done this course.

Cheers :icon1:
