Dear all,
We are a company involved in supply of contract labour for various industries across all sectors.
On the basis of requirement, we deploy labour from one state to the other (i.e if labour is required in Tamil Nadu at a praticular place and sufficient labour is not available, then labour from neighbouring states is deployed).
We would like to know whether there is any law/rules governing such inter-state deployment(migration of labour) either in Contract Labour Act or any other labour rules.
I request clarification/information from our learned forum members. Kindly clarify on this aspect.
Regards,
J. Subramanian

Dear Friend
The Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979 is An Act to regulate the employment of inter-State migrant workmen and to provide for their conditions of service and for matters connected therewith.
So u have to take registration under this Act before employ workers from other state.
