Hi Anu,

U can even use JOSO and Techtribe they are good sites for professional network.

Linked in is anyways better than anything else.

Hi,

My opinion is that, if you do not want to source people through Job portal its will be better to source people through employee referals since, they know the company norms & Nature, they really know whats is company's climate & also, they may provide you good candidate who sustain the pressure in the oragnaization & who suits better to the expected profile & also, there is a fear factor attached to him that candidate who refered by him does not function well employee will have fear that is name will be spoiled so he will provide the best prospective candidate in case i & some of friends need candidate i would recommend employee referals.

Default Networking portal for Recruitment

Dear All,

I am utilising facebook and friendster to obtain contacts. Its rather useful and cost effective in term of advertisement and head hunters.
Thanks

Dear Anu,

I work for an Advertising agency and in this industry you have a huge talent crunch. What we do for sourcing out the right candidate is as below:

Running an Employee Referral Scheme where we reward an employee getting us the right candidate by paying them either 2%of the CTC offered to the new joinee or 5000/- whichever is higher. We call this program as P-REFER PROGRAMME

Also whenever we interview people we ask them to give us references with whom they have worked (withe their designation, contact details) which gets added up to our database.

I advise you to keep on using portals. However it has become a traditional method but still the best source to get candidates.

We also use blogs and social networking sites to spread news that we are looking for someone. One thing being very clear that whenever we do that it never looks like a recruitment ad. It has to be drafted carefully to excite them at least to get in touch with us.

Alumni: Keep them updated on whatever is happening. They will do the word of mouth adverising for you. Request your reliable alumni to get good profiles.

For campus recruitment: Do some poster campaign. Paste some interesting poster which excite them. A kind of teaser campaign before you actually visit them.

Hope this will help you in sourcing good profile. Do let me know if any of these work out for you.

Regards,

Nalini
