Default Payroll question - Past employer earnings

Recently I have changed my Job and I only worked for 2 month with my previous employer in this financial Year 2008.
What will happen if I do not show my Previous employer earnings. How will the Tax dept come to know? During tax return also I will only show the new employer earnings. I know this is wrong but how will the Tax Deparment get to know if anybody does this?
