In a 6 month probation, at what time is critical to mention to employee that the probation will be extended? What are the clear steps that should be taken to extend probation?

Probation can be extended if the perfomance of any employee is not meets the reuired standards and expections of job.

It is to be informed to the employee while reviewing his perfomance during the probation period and clearly communicate to him about the shortcomings/minimum requirements etc.

Some councelling is also required accordingly, to communicate him the need for further improvements in the area were his perfomamnce is less than acceptable criteria/ standards.
