Hi,
You can hold salary of the employee if you are of the opinion the employee will not continue.
All new employees should be given proper training, good updated salary, healthy environment. This makes the new joinee feel good, occupied and paid attention and makes him feel wanted.
The other policy you can try out is ask for Original Academic Certificate Deposited with the company during the time of joining. This will leave the employee with no option but to serve notice and resign.
Also try out the PF Holding Option.
Hope the above is of information to you.
Thanks and Regards

Rajashri,

Of course it is a very difficult task for the Recruiter to provide the replacement for the absconding employees, that they have little option it is everywhere in every industry and it cannot be stopped, the only reason is that the employee got the offer in other organisation and that Organisation doesn't give any time for the candidate for joining. They simply put the pressure on the candidate that you have to join within a week or ten days time and even they are ready to pay the loss to the candidate from the previous organisation.

So who is on at fault in this scenario.

It can't be stopped but definitely it can be reduced by provide better working atmosphere.

I am having some different views as given by Preethi, because you have to build faith in the employee towards the organisation, by doing that you will be loosing the faith of the employee in the very initial stage, also such type of practices works only for the short term, not for long term. For the growth of the company such kind of practice should be avoided.

(Vaise how r u ?????? )

Hi Rajashri,
When an employee absconds we got to understand the reason for it; if it is because of the company like lack of proper orientation, uninformed shift plans / extended shifts, lack of guidance from Manager etc.... Once the reason is analysed it got to be addressed immediately with concerned Managers so that the issue doesnt crop up again.
If the flaw is from employee side you can hold his salary or certificates ( has to be a part of your policy).
I have been a recruiter in the initial phase of my career and i do understand how frustation it is to rework on the same positions.Take it positively as a part of our job, as in most of the cases we do REPLACE the employees as in very few cases we offer canditates for a newly designed role / position.

Hi All,
Gre8 cocmments.
a simple question
Mostly you will find employees absconds on the first or 2nd of every month. How can you hold salaries for those employees.
First analayze the reason why the employee is absconding try to get in touch with them & after you analyze the reason try & kill the problem. It is not only recruiters but the entire organisation suffers i understand recruits suffers most but even the cost of replacement to organisation is very high for such cases.
The day 1 employees joins the organisation is very important because intial process starts from day 1 so the impact of day 1 is very high on the employees.Make employee centric policies employee engagment should be on a higher scale if employee engament is high or employee is engaged to his/her work chances of getting abscond form his/her duties becomes very low.

When a person recriuted in an organisation why is it the responsiblity of recruiter? A good employee, if does not like the atmosphire of the organisation. it is the responsibility of company to the employee. every employee has right to get good salary and good atmosphire and respect. Organisation has to make a rule that an employee by any reason absconding from duty may advice to his/ her boss within 2 days about his/her whereabout.

Raji,
Jese is dunia me aaye hue har insan ko ek din jana hota hai thik bese hi har organisation me aaye hue har employee ko ek din jana hi hota hai............ if you are a recruiter then you will have to do your karma and shld nt be botherd bout the Result ............... as said by Shri Krishna in Bhagwat Geetha...............
Send written warning to the absconded employee and start looking for a new one............ rest you can not do anything as policies needs to be changed on the discreation of the management and can not be chanegd by the recruiters......

We forget that change is something inevitable,I was a faithful employee of Insurance Company for 19 years, when instead of promoting me,they transferred me to a lower post,I apprached High court and got stay, consequently they have started "disciplinary proceedings" and have suspended me because of so called "grave" charges of leaving headquarters etc.

Do you all agree that verification check from the organisation that the employee who absconded must have joined, should be given a proper picture of his exit ? Please give me your views on the same
